Shingle Style
(Score 1 point for each “yes”)
- Are your shingles lying flat and smooth?
- Are there minimal signs of curling or cracking?
- Are the shingle granules mostly intact (not bald spots)?
- Do your shingles have a consistent, vibrant color?
- Are there very few missing shingles?
Flashing Fitness
(Score 2 points for each “yes”)
- Is the flashing around your chimney, vents, and skylights in good condition?
- Does the flashing appear properly sealed with no gaps or cracks?
- Is the flashing free of rust and corrosion?
Gutter Goals
(Score 2 points for each “yes”)
- Are your gutters clean and free of debris?
- Are your gutters securely attached to your home?
- Do your downspouts effectively channel water away from the foundation?
- Do your gutters show no signs of leaks or overflowing during rainstorms?
Leak Lookout
(Score 3 points for each “no”)
- Have you noticed any water stains or signs of leaks on your ceilings or walls?
- Have you noticed any signs of leaks in your attic or crawlspace?
Calculate Your Score:
- 15 or more points: Congratulations! Your roof is in excellent condition. Keep up the good work with regular maintenance.
- 9-14 points: Not bad, but there’s room for improvement. Consider addressing some minor repairs to prevent bigger problems down the road.
- 4-8 points: Uh oh, your roof needs some attention. It’s time to give us a call for a thorough inspection and potential repairs.
- 0-3 points: Your roof may be nearing the end of its lifespan. It’s time to seriously consider a roof replacement.
